Shawn embarked on his real estate investing journey in 2018 – more
specifically, in the limited time he had off from working full time as
an air traffic controller for the US Navy and the FAA. Although the
income was good, he found himself lacking time freedom. As he
delved into various investment classes, he gravitated towards the
potential of real estate investing, particularly apartment investing.
For his first venture into real estate, Shawn took the bold step of
liquidating his 401k and partnered with some close friends to acquire a
32-unit apartment in a different state. While the initial investment
presented its fair share of challenges and mistakes, they persevered
and managed to execute their business plan, and ultimately sold
the property for a remarkable 3X return within just two years. This
experience left an indelible mark on Shawn, igniting a profound
passion for real estate.
Today, his compass points toward multifamily real estate, and he
is on a mission to help accredited investors find their freedom
and thrive, as he is in the vibrant heart of San Diego, CA.
Today, Shawn’s portfolio spans 335 apartment units, and he’s currently focused on infill apartment development in San Diego.
